These are one of my favorite cookies of all time. I use a Better Homes and Gardens recipe. This recipe makes about 4 dozen cookies.
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- Cream butter and 1 1/2 cupssugar, add baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Beat until combined.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla till combined.
- Beat in flour until mixture is combined.
- Cover and chill dough about an hour.
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a small bowl combine cinnamon with 1/4 cup sugar.
- Shape dough into 1 1/4" balls.
- Roll into sugar mixture to coat.
- Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 10-12 minutes until bottoms are lightly browned.
- Cool on wire racks.
