Chocolate Gingerbread Drops

This is another recipe I got from Better Homes and Gardens.
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3/4 brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup dried pomogranates
  • 3 oz bittersweet chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Combine shortening and brown sugar till combined.
  3. Add baking soda, ginger, allspice and salt till combined.
  4. Beat in molasses and egg till combined.
  5. Beat in flour, stir in pomogranates and chocolate chips.
  6. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheets.
  7. Bake 8 minutes or until bottomw are light brown.
  8. Transfer to wired racks till cooled.
